A Warm & Welcoming Setting

"Where children grow & blossom together"

Take a closer look at the nurturing home-from-home space on offer at Kim's Tiney Bloom and Grow Childcare

Welcome

Welcome to Kim’s Tiney Bloom and Grow Childcare, a warm and nurturing home-from-home environment where children are encouraged to feel happy, safe, and valued. I offer a range of engaging spaces, including our outdoor garden, cosy reading corner, and inviting play areas, all designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. Here, children are supported to explore, develop, and flourish at their own pace in a caring and relaxed setting.

Calm Corner

Our cosy calm corner is a peaceful space where children can take a break, relax, and feel supported when emotions feel overwhelming. With soft furnishings and calming tools, children are gently supported to self-regulate and return to play when they are ready.

The Colour Monster

I encourage the children to use The Colour Monster and a range of emotion resources to help them recognise and understand how they are feeling.

Children are encouraged to talk about their feelings, practicing simple self-regulation strategies. This nurturing approach helps to build emotional awareness, resilience, and confidence in a safe and supportive environment.

Reading Corner

Our reading corner is a cosy and inviting space where children can enjoy quiet moments and develop a love of stories and language. I offer a small, carefully chosen selection of books that are regularly refreshed to reflect children’s interests and stages of development. Alongside this, I  provide finger puppets and wooden song spoons, which bring stories and rhymes to life in a fun and engaging way! These resources encourage children to use their imagination, build confidence, and develop early communication and language skills through shared reading, storytelling, and song.

Home Area

Our home area and role play kitchen is a warm and inviting space where children can explore real-life experiences through imaginative play. It is thoughtfully set up to reflect familiar home routines, encouraging children to take on roles such as cooking, caring for others, and working together. Through dressing up, pretend cooking, and social interaction, children develop their communication and language skills, build friendships, and begin to make sense of the world around them. This area supports confidence, creativity, and early social development in a relaxed and engaging environment.

Mark Making

We provide a variety of fun and meaningful mark making opportunities throughout the day to support early writing skills and creativity. Children are encouraged to explore marks in many different ways, both indoors and outdoors, using a range of accessible materials such as pencils, crayons, chalks, paint, and natural resources. These experiences help children develop fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination, and confidence as they begin to give meaning to their marks. We value all forms of early mark making as an important step towards writing, supporting children to express themselves in a relaxed and enjoyable way.

Outdoor Garden Space

We are fortunate to have a lovely outdoor garden that is used as an extension of our learning environment throughout the day. We recognise the importance of fresh air and outdoor play in supporting children’s overall wellbeing and development.

The garden is fully enclosed, safe, and carefully maintained, allowing children to explore and play with confidence. It offers a range of age-appropriate activities, from active play to quieter moments of discovery, so every child can enjoy the space in their own way.

The garden has an outdoor reading area, where children can relax, share stories, and enjoy quiet time in a calm and comfortable setting. This space encourages a love of books while allowing children to unwind in the fresh air.

We also use the garden to encourage curiosity and early learning. Children are given opportunities to engage in simple gardening activities, explore natural materials, and observe changes in the environment. These experiences help to develop their confidence, independence, and understanding of the world around them.

Whether children are being active, imaginative, or simply enjoying some quiet time outdoors, the garden provides a calm and welcoming space where they can learn, grow, and have fun.
